一、什么是“On Hold状态”？

The journal is being re-evaluated according to our selection criteria; new content will not be indexed during the course of the re-evaluation.（根据我们的选择标准，期刊正在被重新评估;在重新评估过程中，新内容将不会被编入索引。）

When the evaluation is complete, the publisher will be informed of the outcome and the journal will either: be removed from coverage if it no longer meets the quality criteria or remain covered if it continues to meet the quality criteria.（当评估完成后，出版商将被告知结果，期刊将: 如果它不再符合质量标准，则从索引数据库中移除;如果它继续符合质量标准，则继续被收录到数据库中。）

If the journal meets the quality criteria, any missing content will be indexed. If the journal is removed from coverage, content will not be backfilled. In the most serious cases of breaches in a journal's editorial standards, as determined by our selection criteria, published content may be removed from Web of Science. Timeframes for completing a re-evaluation will depend on the particular circumstances of each case.（如果期刊符合WoS质量标准，任何缺失的内容(由于评估而暂停收录的文章)都将被编入索引。如果该期刊被从索引数据库（即WoS）中删除，由于评估而暂停收录的文章将不会被收录。在最严重的违反期刊编辑标准的情况下，根据我们的选择标准，已发表的内容（以发表文章）可能会从Web of Science中删除。完成重新评估的时间框架将取决于每个案件的具体情况。）

二、如何确认投稿目标期刊On Hold状态

首先，你可能是通过公众号的推文或者是网络上搜索目标期刊发现了目标期刊可能处于On Hold状态；

然后，如果你还是想投目标期刊或者是你在准备稿件时就是专门为目标期刊准备的，请到WoS官网确认下目标期刊是否处于On Hold状态。

最后，是确认目标期刊On Hold状态的方法：

1. 从你们学校图书馆网站打开Web of Science ；

2. 点击页面上的“Products”，选择“Master Journal List”，如图1所示；

3. 进入图2界面，输入期刊名称或者是ISSN号，点击“Search Journals”；

4. 进入图3页面，就可以看到“On Hold状态”的图标了。

三、On Hold状态相关的其他知识1. 期刊On Hold，有被解除的机会，但根据以往数据，机会不是太大，所以可以认为一旦期刊被WoS设置为On hold，意味着是风险期刊了；2. 期刊Dropped或Ceased， WoS JCR目录更新时，期刊往往因为不同的原因会Dropped或Ceased，WoS不会再收录此后发表的文章。3. 期刊Suppressed, 期刊Suppressed并不是被WoS剔除，因为Suppressed期刊指的是过度自引或引文堆叠的期刊，这些期刊会依然保留在核心库收录中，但是不会公布它当年的期刊影响因子和5年影响因子。
