In 2015, the world came together with a historic promise to build a better and fairer future.

2015年，全世界共同作出历史性承诺——要建设一个更美好、更公平的未来。

The result was the UN Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs.

由此制定了联合国可持续发展目标，英文缩写是SDG。

A global pledge to tackle hunger, alleviate poverty, cut emissions, improve health, promote equality and support sustainable development everywhere.

全球都承诺：要解决饥饿问题，减轻贫困，减少排放，改善健康，促进平等，支持各处取得可持续发展。

But SDG progress has stalled, with only 15% of the goals on track.

但是可持续发展目标的进展却停滞不前，仅有15%的目标取得如期进展。

This needs to change.

这种局面需要改变。

Throughout history, when faced of challenges, it has been human ingenuity, ideas and innovation that has allowed us to overcome and succeed.

纵观历史，在面对种种挑战时，是人类的才思、创意和创新使我们克服挑战，取得成功。

So to put the SDGs back on track, we need to harness intellectual property as a catalyst to unleash the power of innovation and creativity to address our common global challenges.

因此，为了让可持续发展目标重回正轨，我们需要把知识产权作为催化剂，释放创新和创意的力量，来应对我们共同的挑战。

From electric vehicles to life-saving drugs, clean and green tech, AI and digital technologies, and many others – IP can be the vehicle to turn bold new ideas into real-world impact.

从电动汽车到救命之药，从清洁的绿色技术到人工智能和数字技术以及其他，知识产权可以作为一种载体，将天马行空的新想法转变为现实世界的影响。

So on this World IP Day, let us come together as a global community and use of power of IP to achieve the SDGs to build a better future for all of us.

所以，值此世界知识产权日之际，让我们携手作为一个全球共同体，使用知识产权的力量实现可持续发展目标，为我们所有人建设一个更美好的未来。
